FAT16, FAT16X, FAT32, FAT32X, NTFS, CSVFS, ReFS

  • CSVFS（supported for only Cluster Edition）
  • ReZooming a virtual machine created in ReFS is not supported.
  • The above listed file systems on MBR and GPT disks are supported.
  • Support for the above mentioned file systems of virtual disks on Storage Space configured with Windows 8 or later OS.

Cold Imaging in Boot Environment（Linux）:(except for IT Pro)

  • To run backup tasks using the Deduplication Compression feature, reserving 1% or more of the total data of the backup source for saving the temporary working files in a volume that should not be included in the backup source is required.

Notes on installation of the product

  • ActiveImage Protector Linux Edition supports only x86_64 architecture.
  • Secure Boot is not supported.
  • If installing the product on clone OS of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, please make sure the following packages are installed to run ActiveImage Protector’s installer. glibc.x86_64, libgcc.x86_64, libstdc++.x86_64, libuuid.x86_64, make.x86_64, nss-softokn-freebl.x86_64, zlib.x86_64, kernel-devel
  • If installing the product on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS or clone OS of the equivalent OS, please make sure the following packages are installed to install services only. fuse.x86_64, gcc.x86_64, samba-client.x86_64, unzip.x86_64, vim-common.x86_64, zip.x86_64, libsmbclient.x86_64, elfutils-libelf-devel.x86_64, libnsl.x86_64, perl.x86_64

File System

Linux Ext2, Linux Ext3, Linux Ext4, XFS, Linux Swap, Linux LVM (volume group and logical volume), Linux RAID
  • Linux RAID is not supported if RAID is configured by using dmraid.
  • Bare metal recovery of Linux RAID by using mdraid is not supported.
  • For backup image files for file systems other than the above, a full sector backup is created.

Storage

Windows console for remote management capabilities

The ActiveImage Protector Linux Edition comes with the ActiveImage Console which provides remote management capabilities and operates ActiveImage Protector installed on Linux systems from a Windows OS even when X Windows is not configured.   • To run backup tasks using the Deduplication Compression feature, reserving 1% or more of the total data of the backup source for saving the temporary working files in a volume that should not be included in the backup source is required.

DVD-ROM Drive:

  • ActiveImage Protector Linux Edition supports only x86_64 architecture

The ActiveImage Protector Linux Edition comes with the ActiveImage Console which provides remote management capabilities and operates ActiveImage Protector installed on Linux systems from a Windows OS even when X Windows is not configured. Computer Security Settings

Please make sure that the settings are configured for computers as follows before starting management/data communication.

  • Firewall Setting [Windows Management Interface (WMI)] option is enabled.
  • Configure firewall setting for Group Policy [Allow inbound remote administration exception] option is enabled in [Network] – [Network Connection] – [Windows Firewall].

In order to push installation / uninstallation / updating ActiveImage Protector, please make sure of the following settings.

  • Firewall Setting:
    Allow [File and Printer Sharing].
  • firewall settings are configured via Group Policy: Go to [Network] – [Network Connection] – [Windows Firewall] and enable [Allow inbound file and printer sharing exception].

HYPERBOOT

Before using the hypervisor on the local computer, please make sure that the system requirements for the hypervisor are met. Main Memory： 1024MB or more Hard Disk： 1.2GB or more of available disk space is required. Please make sure that sufficient disk space is available, since the changes made after booting up an image are saved in install folder by default.
